Update on the Car Cat
The cat from my car is a well-known community cat named Butterscotch (or Tuna).
Okay so I have an update on the cat situation. Last night I was kind of freaking out, so I did what anyone would do, I posted that picture I took on the neighborhood Facebook group. I was just hoping someone would say 'oh that's my cat!' and that would be the end of it. Well, that is not what happened. At all.
Instead my phone just started blowing up. It felt like everyone in the entire apartment complex had something to say about this cat. Apparently, he's a local celebrity. His name is Butterscotch. Or, according to a different thread of comments, his name is Tuna. He doesn't have an owner. He's a 'community cat', which I guess is a thing. People leave food out for him, a few people have little shelters on their porches for him, he just kind of... belongs to everyone and no one.
So he's not lost. Which is good. But he's also not anyone's direct responsibility which is how he ends up sleeping in people's cars I guess. Everyone was sharing their own stories about him. Someone said he followed them home once, another person said he likes to sit on their patio furniture. It was actually kind of sweet seeing how many people look out for him.
So now I feel sort of responsible too. I went out to the garage this morning and he was still there, just chilling on some old blankets. He seemed fine, just cold. I ran to the store and got a can of cat food and a bowl of water and he ate the whole thing. He's still out there. I guess I'm officially on the cat-care committee now. This is weird. But I'm glad he's safe.

Any suggestions for a cheap and warm outdoor shelter I could make for him?
